The service is operational 24 hours, 7 days per week and therefore you will be required to work shifts covering days, evenings, nights and weekends – this will include working bank holidays.
You will receive incoming and make outgoing calls to service users to support their independence. You will also receive calls in connection with the Councils emergency out of hours service.
Principle duties will involve operating the Tunstall call handling system, therefore excellent telephone communication skills are essential, together with the skill to quickly analyse and resolve problems as presented. You will also be responsible for appropriately deploying the Carecall response service as the needs arise. An ability to maintain a computerised database of accurate user information is essential, along with good clerical skills would be an advantage.
