Job Description:

The main purpose of this position is to provide teaching and conduct research predominantly in the areas of OT in Work Practice / Vocational Rehabilitation and fulfill academic administrative requirements, as well as participate in socially responsive activities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Compilation of course readers
  • Participation at divisional & departmental staff meetings
  • Contextually relevant Curriculum Development, Design and Review at undergraduate and postgraduate levels with specific focus on expanding the current Work Practice content
  • Classroom-based curriculum delivery
  • Mentoring of less experienced staff in the division / department
  • Development & refinement of learning opportunities
  • Augmented educational support for undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Promote inter- and intra-disciplinary collaboration
  • Contribute to divisional academic administration
  • Course and year convening at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level
  • Negotiate opportunities for student exposure to various practice contexts (site visits and professional panels)
  • Leadership of the work practice cluster
  • Lead and support innovations in the development and design of teaching and learning activities
  • Monitoring of student engagement with learning tasks
  • Consult on academic support across OT curriculum
  • Student assessment

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in practice learning supervision of students
  • At least 3 years clinical experience in Work Practice / Vocational Rehabilitation within Occupational Therapy
  • Teaching to large class
  • Computer Literacy – Microsoft Word, Excel and PPT; Research Database Searches; Some ability to use IT-based educational technology
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • A relevant Master’s qualification by dissertation, or coursework with at least a 1/3rd research component
  • Leadership, management and administrative skills
  • Scholarly engagement with the public and communities
  • Networking and fostering relationships with colleagues and potential practice learning sites
  • Course and year convening at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level
