Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Human Resource Officer for the Western Cape to provide prompt and accurate support to employees and managers with Human Resource related queries; ensuring that the payroll system is updated and accurate at all times in accordance with Company compliance policies and PSIRA regulations for the Security Sector.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Management to ensure that all employee files are up to date with relevant employee information
  • Updating Performance Development Reviews and Performance Assessment Scores
  • Ensure that all documents relating to benefits are accurate and submitted accordingly (in absence of the HR Administrator)
  • Ensure timeous and correct payment of benefits to employees
  • Ensure that all documents relating to employee benefits and the Department of Labour are filed accordingly
  • Assist in providing Certificates of Service to all employees on termination
  • Manage the Long Service Award process to ensure that employees receive reward accordingly
  • Ensure the effective investigation and resolution of queries
  • Assist with confirmation of employment
  • Follow up on all unresolved queries and claims on behalf of employees/families
  • Ensure the prompt payment of all benefit claims by providing the complete and correct information to Fund Administrators
  • Provide support to management and employees relating to Policies and Procedures
  • Provide employees and managers with guidance and advise on IR matters
  • Provide the Regional HR Manager with support when required
  • Follow up with manager and/or employee when information is incomplete
  • Ensure that leave records are accurately captured and maintained
  • Ensure that all leave is captured and leave report is run before the deadline
  • Update the retrenchment list accordingly and provide report to relevant parties
  • Update the HR Database accordingly
  • Assist in sending out advertisements internally and externally for vacant positions as per recruitment procedure
  • Ensure that interviews are set up according with potential candidates
  • Ensure that unsuccessful candidates are notified accordingly
  • Ensure that all delegates are notified of the training course, venue and time
  • Ensure that venues are booked accordingly

Job Requirements:

  • Labour Legislation (Sectoral Determination6/BCEA/LRA/Psira
  • Unique Payroll System
  • General HR Practices & Systems (Educos/ Vision)
  • Benefit Funds Rules and Processes
  • Recruitment Systems (Neptune /Texhire)
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Strong Communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Organisational Skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Matric
  • Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • 2 – 3 years minimum related experience (preferbaly in a large organization – Security Industry experience is advantageous)
  • Must have drivers license and willing to travel
