Job Description: As a Scrum Master you will help the team to understand Scrum theory and values. You will act as the conscience on the Scrum team, ensuring team members live agile values and principles and follow agreed Scrum processes, practices and behaviors. The scrum master will be committed to the Scrum foundation and values, however remain flexible and open to opportunities for the team to improve their velocity. Reporting to the Portfolio Scrum of Scrum Master, you will be a part of the AMS product development team, building relationships with delivery partners, removing impediments and driving the work of an innovative team that are at the outset of an agile transformation. Job Responsibilities: Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment Ensuring the culture of continuous learning and improvement is given the ability to flourish during capacity planning Acting as the conscience of the team when evaluating “Doneness” or “Readiness” criteria Guiding the team on the use of planning tools to enable tracking of progress with User Stories and Features via Sprint and Release Burndowns Acting as a shield for the team from outside distractions and interferences Guiding the team on self-organisation Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information Guiding the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution Ensuring all Scrum ceremonies are aligned to best practices as prescribed through the PEI Practices Responsible for following practice improvements and minimal requirement standards as defined within the best practice’s documentation Facilitating team ceremonies, such as the daily stand-up, sprint planning and refinement, end of sprint demo and retrospective meetings Supporting and liaising with the Delivery Lead on resourcing issues or any issues facing the team Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially about refining and maintaining the product backlog Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example Responsible for following and taking forward SAFe related refinements with the team as the model is more fully adopted throughout the enterprise Job Requirements: Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency Scrum Alliance CSM certification or SAFe certification (or equivalent) – required Possesses a rudimentary understanding of Scaled Agile Framework Experience in a fast-paced software development environment (development, testing, product management/product owner) Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
