Job Description:

SBV seeks a Vetting Investigator to assist with vetting investigations that will include interviews, Polygraph/Voice Stress tests, risk profiling, analysis, recommendations and report writing. The applicant will assist the Vetting team with investigations Nationally by delivering both an effective and efficient investigative service to SBV.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct specified checks on various data bases and internet.
  • Analyse information gathered to identify possible risks .
  • Conduct Vetting interviews and Polygraph/Voice Stress tests.
  • Identify possible risks and make recommendations.
  • Draw up reports of findings during investigations.
  • Schedule follow-up interviews and liaison with centre HR and Management.
  • Provide assistance after hours when required to do so.
  • Manage the administration of all investigations done by the Investigator.
  • Assist Risk Department with Polygraph/Voice Stress tests for specific incidents such as thefts or robberies.
  • Collaborate and assist with investigations following an incident
  • Make recommendations on any changes or improvements on SOPS or policies.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 10 years Vetting and/or Investigation experience:
    • SAPS, SANDF or SSA Vetting experience will be advantageous
    • At least 3 years’ experience as a certified Polygraph or Voice Stress examiner. Must be a member of a recognised association (e.g. SAPFED, SAPAVSA, APA etc.)
  • All relevant Vetting and Investigative qualification will be beneficial.
  • Advanced MS Office and Excel Skills,
  • PSIRA registered – grade A
  • Report writing and presentations skills
