The Retail Risk Manager role is critical to the delivery of our risk profile/risk management in Retail making a significant contribution to the overall success of the business
The role is required to lead the retail store management control framework (Safe & Legal/Risk) & processes, ensuring they are fit for purpose for our Stores across all Channels. Identifying procedural and process issues, delivering process improvements and simplification to stores to mitigate risks and support the delivery of the Retail management oversight in relation to Risk, you will manage a Retail Risk Analyst and will own key stakeholder relationships across the business and wider industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching for store management teams/ Regional Store Directors relating to all Risk processes
  • Engage, work with and be credible with key external third party regulatory bodies and enforcement officials such as Trading Standards Officers and the British Retail Consortium
  • Identify risks and issues related to store safe & legal/Risk process and manage resulting project work to deliver improvement to support Retail activation / risk mitigation
  • To project manage the cross divisional planning and delivery of any Risk changes, ensuring that store feedback is fundamental to any key changes
  • Support our stores and retail teams to trade legally by proactively working internally and externally on new legislation, providing high support and high challenge to all stakeholders to ensure that this translates into practical, robust and pragmatic processes in store that are well activated
  • Proactively maintain networks within Supermarkets, Convenience, Logistics, and cross divisionally to ensure Risk processes are fit for purpose & in line with both our risk appetite and our commercial budgets
  • Responsible for ensuring that all change that impacts Risk is fit for purpose and is effectively introduced through the appropriate governance process
  • Positively role model ‘store closeness’ by maintaining highly effective working relationships with Store Managers across all Channels & proactively working with Regional Store Directors, Regional Managers & Argos Heads of stores to support on key issues and risk mitigation
