Job Description:

Facilitate the operation of the fleet across the region to perform at optimal levels ensuring safety, legal compliance and adherence to company policies and standards, that reflects the company’s values and upholds its reputation. He / she is also required to ensure that direct reports are suitably qualified, capable and competent to perform their duties and translate the fleet strategy into actionable and measurable plans at regional level.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fleet asset verification to be conducted during DC visits and Audits to ensure alignment to SAP master data
  • Regional DC visits schedule set up, signed off with line manager and communicated to the applicable regional management.
  • Implement and sustain the DPO Management Pillar applicable to fleet (i.e. 5s, Routines, MCL/SCL, Problem Solving, Action Logs)
  • Review and manage the maintenance of archived records and documentation as per SAB and legal requirements including maintenance job cards, licensing history, and pre-trip inspections
  • An agreed SLA between regional fleet and DC’s to ensure optimal service delivery and support
  • Conduct physical fleet audits as required by SAB. Analyse findings, identify non-compliance issues, communicate to depot management and monitor implementation of corrective action
  • Implement and sustain the DPO Fleet Pillar
  • Explore financial optimisation opportunities to reduce spend
  • Monitor and manage expenditure against the budget (VLC) with monthly latest estimate (LE) align to period phasing (DC) and supply commentary
  • Tracking and trending of DPO Fleet Pillar and Global Fleet KPI’s
  • Analyse monthly financial reports with commentary, and develop and implement necessary plans to improve performance
  • Conduct stringent inspections of compliance against legal and safety requirements during depot visits (All Fleet and Workshops)

Job Requirements:

  • Applicable South African Traffic Act governance knowledge
  • Good performance track record
  • At least three to five years of people management experience
  • 3 – 5 years Fleet functional work experience
  • Relevant 3 year tertiary degree/diploma
  • Strong analytical ability demonstrated
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and knowledge of SAP
