Job Description:
The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Divisional Controller and is responsible for ensuring completion of month-end close, preparing monthly reconciliations to trial balance and preparation of financial statements for the KF Aerospace divisions excluding MRO and defense divisions. This is a “roll up your sleeves” position, which entails hands on liaison with operations staff, processing of transactions and preparing a variety of reconciliations for many of the entities. It includes ensuring the integrity of each company’s general ledger and developing documentation support for annual audited financial statements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensuring bank statements and visa statements are downloaded in a timely manner
- Approving customer credit applications
- Updating vendor/employee banking in the ERP
- Preparation of month end accruals, working papers and variance analysis
- Filling in and sending off vendor credit applications
- Assist with bank reconciliations
- This role requires an ability to interpret contracts, provide revenue & pricing analysis, understand revenue recognition, manage operational costing, analyze fuel usage / costs, and coordinate invoicing and collections while maintaining financial / operational controls
- Structural AME’s are expected to be able to demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency and perform the following functions:
- Coordinate with other employees to ensure timely completion of the month end close and elimination entries where required
- Various ad hoc reporting, analysis
- Liaison with the Flight Operations department and outside customers to prepare monthly invoices according to contract terms and to reconcile quarterly results.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and utilize analytical problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with EDI billing processes and/or IATA electronic fulfillment would be an asset
- Able to learn quickly & build relationships, support a team environment
- Able to liaise across all departments and speak/present with senior management
- Completion of CPA or a recognized accounting certificate/diploma/degree and pursing a CPA designation is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, positive & enthusiastic
- Aviation or cargo financial operations would be an asset
- Organized and attentive to details
- Min 5 years practical experience, with 2+ years of multi-company, multi-currency experience and 2+ years of public practice
- Intermediates excel skills are required
- Adaptable to fast pace, deadline driven environment
- Ability to quickly grasp and work with complex Enterprise Resource Planning software and report writing software
