Job Description: This South African organisation works with youth in all facets of empowering them to own their own sexuality, and use of technology through digital tools to gain access to youth and educate and impart information to them in areas where they are found, so they can make informed choices about their health and status for their future. This role will aid assessment of the effectiveness, scalability, sustainability and cost-effectiveness of sexual and gender-based violence service delivery mechanisms among adolescent girls and young women in South Africa. This position will lead MER for this project, but a portion of time will also be dedicated to the broader organisational MER efforts. This One-year donor funded Contract role is based in the Regional Office in Centurion, reporting ultimately to the Strategic Information Executive. Job Responsibilities: Develop a research methodology for the project, which ensures SGBV survivor-centered service delivery, research and evaluation. Develop the survey and evaluation materials, including both qualitative feedback gathered through various methods and quantitative data. Submit the project and its materials for ethics (IRB) approval as a key deliverable of the project Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organisation’s business, including nature of the existing data and database structure, the work programmes and nature of data collection going forward, as well as detailed reporting. Liaise with Regional Social Work Managers to gather feedback from the social work team in the field. Monitor all programme activities, results, and progress towards achieving the programme targets and alert the project Lead to any risks and/or mitigations needed. Develop and strengthen monitoring and evaluation procedures. Where necessary, suggest strategies for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of internal policies and procedures and/or programme activities relevant to M&E. Alongside the project lead, draft reports for the donor agency in the format required, or as otherwise instructed. Prepare GBV data for presentations and potential proposal submissions for additional funding. Job Requirements: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject including monitoring & evaluation, computer science, information systems, data management science, public health, health informatics, or statistics/mathematics. Minimum of 4-5 years work experience in monitoring/evaluating complex public health programming, experience with SGBV programming is not required but highly preferred. Experience obtaining IRB/ethics approval for human research projects. Experience with SGBV/health indicators, data quality and reporting. Previous experience designing M&E frameworks/research methodologies. Skilled in data extraction and mining, organization, analysis and interpretation including data evaluation and variance analysis. Experience with relevant data capturing and analysis tools. Strong report writing skills and fluency in both written and spoken English is essential and competency in one or more of the other official languages would be a benefit.
