Job Description:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for enabling development teams to get working code into the formal environments as efficiently as possible (automation), for both on-premise and in-cloud solutions. This position in the DevOps area will also be responsible for investigating , solving and providing root cause analysis for our production infrastructure and solutions .

For this position, you will need to assume the role of automation champion and establish best practices for the build and deployment pipeline.

This is a senior technical role requiring someone who works well with others, and is able to lead through knowledge and technical expertise

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities to improve the current build and deployment pipeline through task automation (for both on-premise and in-cloud solutions)
• Lead the automation journey for solutions built on AWS
• Develop and enhance the monitoring strategy for deployed applications and infrastructure
• Investigate and provide root cause analysis for technical issues relating to application and infrastructure faults
• Feed recommendations back to development teams for problems arising as a result of bad code and/or design
• Upskill development teams on CI/CD best practises and assist with automation scripts
• Participate in MMI IT Guilds, and communities of best practises that relates to DevOps

Job Requirements:

• Relevant IT qualification
• 5+ years as a DevOps Engineer
• 5+ years as a Software Developer
• Excellent knowledge of the various tools used in the continuous delivery process
• 5+ years Linux and scripting skills
• Experience with Ansible and Jenkins advantageous
• Experience working on the AWS platform. Highly advantageous to have completed any of the AWS certifications geared towards DevOps engineers & practitioners
