Job Description:
The main purpose of the job: To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
- Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged
- Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
- Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
- Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
- Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
Job Requirements:
- 1-year experience in a relevant specialty area: ICU , General, Obstetrics; Theatre, and Emergency care.
- Scientific nursing principles and process
- Relevant nursing legislation
- Develop/ modify a nursing care plan
- Pharmacology
- Nursing processes and procedures
- Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
- Degree / Diploma in General Nursing, registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Nursing record keeping
- 2 years experience in a relevant specialty area: ICU , General, Obstetrics; Theatre, and Emergency care
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in a relevant specialty area
- Patient assessment skills
- Basic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards)
