Job Description:

The position performs the duties of a Journeyperson Plumber in Portage La Prairie and in the surrounding area, at owned and leased buildings within the District as required. The Plumber performs work on all plumbing and related systems, including maintenance, repair, rebuilding spare parts, renovation, and new construction.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of Building Automation Systems, including DDC or related systems.
• A Backflow Preventer Certificate (Cross Connectors Testing), a “B” gas fitters licence and/or completion of Asbestos Abatement training.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience working with plumbing and heating systems in a large commercial, industrial and/or institutional facility.
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and the general public.
• Ability to plan and make effective work-related decisions.
• Organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience working with SAP or related Maintenance Management software.
• Experience working with plumbing related legislated codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures and relevant safety policies and legislation.
