Kathu Mining Jobs – PROCESS SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to supervise a section in the production area to ensure that production targets are achieved according to the production plan.

Job Responsibilities:

• Attend shift handover to obtain previous shift information and schedule shift resources accordingly
• Perform visual inspections of the work area to identify problems and report to the Plant Manager
• Monitor production according to shift targets
• Supervise and maintain a high standard of housekeeping
• Provide maintenance support to the Engineering department
• Identify causes of spillage in the plant and generate suggestions to minimize the spillage
• Continuously monitor equipment failure and efficiency
• Report breakdowns to the Plant Manager
• SHEQ awareness and management within the section
• Monitor and maintain plant parameters to achieve KPI’s
• Investigate and attend to visible process related maintenance problems, e.g. replacement of screens, idlers etc. where engineering is not required

Job Requirements:

• Grade 12
• National Certificate Mineral Processing Level 2 or equivalent Minerals Processing Qualification will be advantageous Experience and Skills Requirements
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Shift Supervisor
• Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering Diploma / Degree will be an advantageous
• Vast knowledge of DMS, Crushing & Screening Process Flow
• English language proficiency
• Time management skills
• Supervisory skills
• Computer Literate in MS Office
• Flotation circuit operation experience advantageous
• Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1
