Job Description:

The Rotables controller will be responsible for ensuring that the company select the most appropriate goods and services on the basis of price, quality and service support.

Job Responsibilities:

• Delivers on Rotable control plan by maintaining order duration standards and agreed goals, expediting, and following up as required;
• Maintain work area to an acceptable level of housekeeping quality;
• All tasks should be undertaken to ensure a high level of quality;
• Information on scope of works should be checked and incoming spares should be checked for quality of repair;
• All equipment should be recorded when leaving the mine to ensure repair timetables are adhered to;
• Schedules should be updated regularly to ensure that equipment is returned as required;
• Spares that are returned from suppliers are to be checked and booked back in;
• Quality control must be done on all Inventory items, Non-Inventory items, Rotable Items and Rotable Rent TMM equipment according to OEM or Purchase order specifications, before accepted for processing for payment;
• Ensure that the information on scope of works should be correct according to the repairs required;
• Warrantees and guarantees claims need to be identified, recorded, completed and ensure that repaired items according to OEM specifications are returned;
• All equipment should be recorded when leaving the mine to ensure delivery dates are adhered to;
• Expediting schedules should be updated regularly to ensure that equipment is returned as required;
• Supplier’s workshop audits to be undertaken;
• Spares to be serialised to ensure history is kept;
• Inventory control of all Inventory Rotable spares and Non-Inventory Rotable Spares must be done on a regular basis to ensure correct stockholding;
• All spares should be quality checked to ensure that the spares have been repaired correctly and meet the scope of work requirements;
• Supplier’s repair centre inspections to be undertaken as and when required;

Job Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12 and relevant NQF4 qualification
• Valid red seal trade certificate will be an added advantage
• At least 3 to 5 years experience as an artisan
• Technical buying background will be an added advantage
• Procurement qualification will be an added advantage
• Valid driver’s licence
• knowledge of mechanical equipment used in the mining environment
• knowledge of electrical equipment used in the mining environment.
• Strong all-round technical knowledge and understanding of mining processes, equipment and components and supply chain management process, is paramount
• Strong articulate oral and written communication skills
• Computer literate, to include advanced Excel and Word skills;
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem identification and solution abilities
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to influence others and take the lead when called upon
• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
• Self-aware, assertive, optimistic and open to change
• Demonstrable supervisory skills (planning, leading, organising, controlling)
• Report-writing skills
• Professional, verbal and written communication in English
