Job Description:
The Senior Tax Accountant will become a key member of the Company’s corporate tax department and primarily supports and facilitates the income and franchise tax compliance, planning and accounting for income taxes, research and planning. The Senior Tax Accountant demonstrates strong tax knowledge and technology skills, including spreadsheet, research and compliance software, and the ability to meet deadlines. The Senior Tax Accountant supports the Tax Manager including assistance with supervision and review of work performed by staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with timely preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual US tax provision
- Document FATCA compliance and preparation of Form 1042
- Ensure appropriate documentation and internal controls are maintained
- Work with the Income Tax Manager and external advisors to ensure the timely and accurate filing of Federal and State US Corporate Income Tax returns and Franchise Tax returns
- Coordinate and assist with audits by tax authorities and internal/external financial audits
- Support continuous improvements in tax processes to gain efficiency and ensure quality. Serve as a driver of positive change that helps broaden department’s impact.
- Maintain technical tax skills pertinent to the position
- Perform research to support tax compliance and planning
- Remain current on tax law changes and changes in the business activities of the company
- Prepare and review book-tax difference computations and tie-out of deferred tax assets/liabilities
- Assist and support other team members of the tax function by performing ad hoc tax analyses, analytical support, and assistance with other special projects as needed
- Perform and review analysis and reconciliations of general ledger accounts
- Proactively manage and maintain provision and compliance deadlines
Job Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Three (3) years of corporate income tax or relevant experience, including working knowledge of corporate tax compliance and ASC 740 provision (formerly FAS 109)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, tax or finance
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Proficient in analytical, accounting and documentation skills with strong attention to detail
- High-Energy individual with strong work ethic
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
Qualification & Experience:
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Master’s Degree/CPA
- Public accounting experience

- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Software

- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)Regular attendance and punctuality
- Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (including spreadsheet expertise), tax compliance and research systems
