Job Description:

Manage the Testing team that deal with serial testing tasks and contribute to these tasks by his/her own experience. Systematic and efficient handling over of trains from Manufacturing to Testing. Ensure timely execution and respect of EHS requirements. To deliver the trains and documents in accordance with the Quality Cost and Delivery commitments and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage static test workshop and dynamic test track operations.
  • Ensure a good working relationship with the other departments (Engineering., Industrial Quality and Supply Chain).
  • Ensure strict compliance with EHS rules and regulations within testing workshop and dynamic test track.
  • Manage training and accreditation of Testing and Commissioning staff.
  • Reports deviations, near-misses and accidents conduct safety observation tours (SOT).
  • Manage serial testing team organization.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to serial testing team.
  • Ensure appropriate staff recruitment, deployment, rotation and turn-over.
  • Ensure timely execution of serial testing and associated troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to Testing and Commissioning management team.
  • Ensure delivery of proper documentation after test execution.
  • Contribute strongly to local recruitment and training of Testing and Commissioning team as well as to subsequent ramp-up.
  • Respect and Promote strict compliance with EHS rules, local regulation and Alstom Zero Deviation Policy.
  • Deploy standard Testing and Commissioning processes.
  • Engage actively in own abroad training.
  • Accountable for EHS compliance within the testing area.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent communication, simplifier of complex situation and/or subjects.
  • Ability to manage a team of specialists and evolve in a management team.
  • Technical Competencies
  • Have a good understanding of key electrical and/or mechanical processes (in particular earthing & bonding, cabling, protection and instrumentation.
  • Registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Technologist/ Engineer or a candidate will be advantageous.
  • IT proficient.
  • Organized, rigorous and delivery focused (good problem solver).
  • Be familiar with high risk activities in association with Electrical work and EHS requirements.
  • MSc will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in commissioning and testing of electrical systems within process industry, railways or factory automation.
  • A solid understanding of power electronics will be beneficial.
  • Management experience of a team or several teams of test technicians is mandatory.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and to write application software when required.
  • BSc/B-Tech (Electrical/Electronic Engineering).
  • Ability to integrate across multi-disciplinary electrical activities (Medium Voltage, Control & Instrumentation, Protection, Software).
