Job Description:
To supervise and manage laboratories where condition monitoring analyses are performed and to utilise the knowledge of chemistry, instrumentation and statistics to solve problems in the area of petroleum sciences to assist engineers to diagnosed faults
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and manage workflow and analysis
- Contribute to safety, health, and quality in the laboratory
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the laboratory
- Supervise and train employees
- Maintain good client relationships
- Perform investigations and research
Job Requirements:
- Electricity generation
- Decision-making

- Customer relations and marketing
- Subject knowledge
- Business report writing
- Research methodology
- National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry at NQF6 with 240 credits
- Eskom policies and procedures
- Basic financial
- Basic laboratory management
- 3 years’ Laboratory technician, diagnostician experience
- Legislation and basic general laboratory practices
- Analytical chemistry
- Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001) and Environment (ISO 14001)
- Presentation
- Oil/water chemistry analysis
- Problem solving
- Specifications relevant to each centre of expertise
- Laboratory Information System (LIMS) knowledge of relevant standards
- Quality (ISO 17025)
- South African Institute of Tribology (SAIT) transformer course
- Sampling and various media
