Cleaning Jobs in Brampton – Maintenance Support and Cleaner

Job Description:

Directly responsible to Maintenance Manager. Functionally responsible to ensure a safe clean environment on all production equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Support & Cleaner are detailed below, but not limited to the following:

• General clean-up of production machinery and surrounding areas. Specifically sweeping, vacuuming, removing butt/billets from under presses and painting of equipment as required
• Monitor on a daily basis the condition/state of the equipment and related areas and address/clean as required
• Report issues observed on equipment and surrounding areas to supervisor/manager
• Operate saw to cut up scrap
• Assist with sorting material when required
• Assist production crews as a helper when required
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Prior custodial type experience is preferred but not essential
• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must have a good command of English, both written and oral
• Good time management and organizational skills are necessary
• Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Must be able to effectively communicate/cooperate with production crews and supervisors in order to maximize job efficiency
• Follow the cleaning schedule and tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
• Lifting and bending may be required. May lift 35 – 50 lbs on a frequent basis
