Job Description:

We have two exciting Learning Designer vacancies within Royal Mail, the roles specialise in the design of leadership learning materials across Royal Mail Group. Key elements of the role are to scope leadership learning capability needs with business stakeholders, establish a design plan that measures progress of the design process and to advise on the most appropriate learning methods for the audience including reach, costs and method. The role works as part of a team and faces off to senior stakeholders and other CoE’s and Business Partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of a portfolio of leadership learning design across the business and the interfaces with key business stakeholders to enable effective delivery
  • You will assist with proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential challenges, costs and devising contingency plans, including keeping all project/programme documentation up to date including RAG status.
  • Ensure up to date understanding of all the latest approaches/methodologies/techniques for ensuring leadership capability development is maximized
  • Hands on material design, and end user training delivery where appropriate, including train the trainer.
  • Where there is a supporting business case, define project scope, goals and deliverables that deploy programme objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders to design innovative best practice solutions to support programmes of leadership learning consistent with people plan and strategy
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to other team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion and play an active role in the gateway and resourcing processes.
  • You will be accountable for design of leadership learning interventions across Royal Mail Group
  • Be accountable for understanding and promoting a variety of delivery techniques (i.e. Coach, classroom, virtual classroom, e-solutions, on the job training) to facilitate improvements in leadership capability / business performance and to deliver programme objectives.
  • Construct appropriate and effective evaluation solutions where supporting projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work collaboratively to deliver business change
  • Excellent knowledge of range of learning and development design principles, solutions/methodologies/technologies and approaches alongside project management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions that may be better
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Understanding of L&D costing models and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
  • Ability to work and manage in a matrix style structure
  • Strong technical ability in learning design
  • Ability to manage a budget, commercially aware
  • Strong organisational and project management skills including communication planning
  • Strong communications skills at all levels and ability to work with key internal stakeholders
