Bedford Central Library is a busy library serving a diverse community and is open seven days a week. Working as part of a team, you will deliver excellent customer service to library customers of all ages and from all sectors of the community. Effective communication skills are essential together with good listening skills to ensure that you can deal with customer enquiries and queries appropriately.
The role involves carrying out a range of administrative tasks and library routines, so the ability to learn and to work quickly and accurately under pressure is essential. You will also be competent in using IT and in supporting customers to access technology. You will have the ability to take part in library activities for children, families and adults.
The successful candidate will be happy to work in a customer facing role, have a positive attitude and an enthusiastic and flexible approach to the role.
This is a weekend post and you will be working 11am to 5pm every Saturday and 11am to 2pm every Sunday.
