Customer Support Key Account Specialist-Charlotte, NC Where the Chemistry Happens… Customer Support is an essential business function that operates in a fast-paced environment that requires quick business critical decisions and to interact with several different functions such as sales, supply chain, credit and product management. These decisions significantly influence the customer experience resulting in an impact for BASF (e.g., preventing business loss and/or growing with a customer). In doing so, the role requires decision-making responsibility with a high degree of autonomy by taking full responsibility for the customer order management process and escalating as needed. As an active stakeholder within the account management team, this position collaborates with internal stakeholders including product management, supply chain, transportation, credit, pricing, sales and marketing. This role directly interfaces with external customers to provide up to date information on the status of their orders, such as entering, tracking and managing their respective accounts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promotes awareness of the Corporate Key Account model within Customer Support at BASF both internally and externally, acting as a liaison between the customer and BASF.
  • Able to work through the internal intricacies and complexities of BASF to expertly manage key accounts and translate tactical actions to strategic thinking.
  • Heavy involvement in resolving issues beyond the core responsibilities of a Customer Support Specialist, with the expectation to continuously differentiate services levels.
  • Manages the order to cash process across multiple supply chain organizations and commercial team members to contribute to a positive customer relationship with BASF.
  • Collaborate and interface with business partners and functional teams where the ability to gain cooperation is critical
  • Engage across the organization to proactively identify and prioritize opportunities, develop sustainable solutions, execute account plans, and champion continuous improvement and overall performance

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree(preferred) in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or relevant discipline OR Must have at least 8 years of experience without a degree
  • Ability to build synergies based on knowledge of the customer’s and BASF’s processes and look for efficiency gains both internally and externally. The Customer Key Account Specialist is a leader in enacting process improvements and continuously challenging the status quo, making it easier for the customer to do business with BASF
  • Bachelor’s degree(preferred) in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or relevant discipline OR Must have at least 8 years of experience without a degree
