Job Description:
As a Barclays Master Documentation Negotiator – Legal, you will be performing negotiations for Master Trading Netting Agreements with the Bank’s counterparties, contributing to the Bank’s efficient use of capital, with a specific emphasis on French language agreements. You’ll be part of the Global Contract Services Team who are a team of lawyers and industry professionals in the Legal department, responsible for the negotiation of master trading documentation for the firm’s global markets business.

Job Responsibilities:
- Fostering and managing robust client relationships with the bank’s clients and helping to deliver team and departmental projects and objectives
- Actively conducting independent legal analysis and managing relationships with external counsel where necessary
- Negotiating and executing master trading agreements as well as ancillary documentation including ISDAs, CSAs, Guarantees, CDEAs and NDAs with clients
- Working on French master documentation, including the convention-cadre FBF-dérivés, Annexe de Remises en Garantie and ancillary documentation in French
- Preparing and delivering training and presentations to colleagues in Legal and other areas of the Bank
Job Requirements:
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to partner with colleagues across the function and in other departments to drive projects from initiation to completion
- French speaker, mother tongue or bilingual, as the role will be focused on due diligence applicable to French counterparties and negotiation of
- French master documentation
- Experience and knowledge of the ISDA & FBF Master Agreements, the Financial industry and Legal roles
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A clear commitment to continuous teaching and learning
- Able to clearly identify legal and commercial risks with the ability to assess commercial implications of contractual terms
- Excellent technical knowledge and negotiation skills to drive negotiations, support project work, assist team members and shape future templates and policies
