ABSA Career – Senior Risk Manager

Job Description:

You will support the Group with their risk, assurance and compliance objectives; developing, implementing and maintaining risk and compliance (Risk, Audits, Regulatory etc.) initiatives, in line with absa guidelines. You will assist to successfully evolve the Technology Risk team into a proactive and trusted risk partner to the CIB CIOs and business.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review assurance reports for factual accuracy and that correct action owners were identified. Review the feasibility of agreed actions and facilitate closure of assurance findings
• Involvement during planning stage of all assurance reviews in the area and coordinating with the Technology teams during the execution of assurance reviews
• Record remediation plans (i.e. known issues or equivalent) on the relevant system and facilitate closure for all risk and control weaknesses identified
• Track and monitor the adequate on time remediation of observations raised by internal or external audit, management assurance
• Pull together Data driven views of the Tech and Cyber Risk profiles and control effectiveness views
• Interlock with the Group Technology Data teams to develop data driven views to proactively manage the Risk profiles
• Closely partner the relevant CIO on the management of their risk profile, driving the risk agenda and regular reporting into the relevant risk & governance structures
• Stay abreast with the evolution of the technology stack in their portfolio with relevant risks and controls
• Ensure that all closure and/or conversion documents are reviewed by the appropriate stakeholders before being submitted to Senior  Management and Assurance Providers
• Identify priority projects in the area and ensure that key Technology, Cyber and Information Security controls are addressed prior to go-live. Be involved in project assurance reviews

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
