Job Responsibilities:
- Establishing, maintaining, and growing sound positive relationships with fellow staff and gym members;
- Having confidence in overcoming objections relating to possible sale of new contracts;
- Assisting the Sales and Marketing Manager with establishing and implementing a social media marketing planner;
- The ability to assist in frontline/reception duties if and when required by the head of the Department;
- Performing all necessary administrative functions for the position, including keeping accurate records and providing feedback on opportunities, prospects, sales activity and sales;
- Ensuring the minimum activity requirement is reached with 24 contacts, 6 appointments, 3 presentations and 2 sales daily;
- Ensuring ethical, honest, and responsible conduct at all times;
- Ensuring sound knowledge of matters relating to all gym services, including knowledge on gym equipment, exercise benefits and exercise in general;
- Managing unpaid debit orders and performing administrative duties to assist in collecting the debt;
- Establishing an effective new member referral system that will be useful in generating new business;
- Actively seeking opportunities and generating new leads and prospects with continuous follow-up that can lead to new member sales;
- Ensuring potential members are provided with reliable and accurate advice relating to possible sales;
- Actively generating new sales as per set monthly requirements and targets;
- Focusing on new public member sales;
- Assisting the Sales and Marketing Manager in creating marketing content for all social media platforms, particularly but not limited to, Instagram and Facebook;
Job Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Marketing experience, to coincide with the required sales experience;
- At least Grade 12 (Senior Certificate), although a post-school qualification in sales/marketing/advertising will be advantageous;
- At least one to two years experience in a sales capacity with a proven sales record;
- Exceptional customer service skills;
- The ability to thrive in a team within a diverse work environment;
- Excellent planning, administrative and organisational skills;
- Computer literate (Microsoft Windows and Excel);
- Above average conflict management skills;
- Experience in the health and fitness industry;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
