Job Description:

This role has a 2.9.2 appointment in terms of the MHSA, Act of 1996, : Maintain, install and commission the electrical components of the machinery and equipment to an agreed standard in the area of responsibility.

Job Responsibilities:

• Records results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format
• Performing work to the required standards and specifications
• Exercise judgment with regards to replacement of components
• Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks
• Attend to breakdowns and emergencies as required
• Maintains a high quality of work
• Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PM’s)
• Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required
• Conducts and participate in risk assessments

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to do standby and overtime
• Must be familiar with risk assessments procedures
• English literate (speak, read and write)
• Valid driving licence code 08
• Grade 12 or Technical Trade Specific N2
• Basic Computer Skills

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Electrician in the mining environment
• Certified Competent as Electrician
