The Senior Maintenance Reliability Turn around (MRTA) Engineer has the overall accountability to manage all facilities maintenance execution, campaign planning and event execution, reliability improvements whilst leading, mentoring, coaching, providing technical guidance, and performing assurance support.

The role is the local Subject Matter Expert / Coach for the Shell Asset Management System (AMS) Maintenance Execution (PME), Manage Equipment Care (MEC), Mitigate Threats & Opportunity (MTO), Campaign (PTA) work processes and the Materials aspects of the Manage Supply Chain Process. The incumbent shall coach staff and maintenance Service Contractor resources on the work process requirements, skills and behaviors required to execute the respective work processes.

The Senior MRTA Engineer shall be responsible to measure and analyze the performance of various Asset Management System (AMS) Processes (PME, MEC, MTO, MSC, TA) with the overall responsibility of making recommendations to improve performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be the custodian of the RAM Model
  • Leads opportunity/problem framing activities.
  • Drive the creation of Material Masters and Bill of Materials for repeat tasks and commonly used parts.
  • Maintain interface with IAP Planner, MIE planner scheduler, logistics supervisor, maintenance supervisor, production supervisor, Integrity
  • Assurance- MMI Engineer, service contractors and Shell global maintenance discipline
  • Define Production critical equipment and appropriate Equipment Care strategies
  • Provides Causal Learning coaching to threat/opportunity owners as needed.
  • In collaboration with SBO Chennai develop electronic work packs in CMMS (SAP) to a standard that allows the field execution teams to adopt campaign style work execution practices.
  • Define & implement obsolescence plans and work with Discipline Engineers to ensure asset register and supporting Material Masters are up to date.
  • ensure data presented is representative of actual performance.
  • Accountable for defining spares and materials required to deliver the equipment care plans, including the spare parts management strategy and process.
  • Multi-Discipline Maintenance Support and Execution: Deliver effective leadership and specialist support to asset teams and other functions for maintaining /restoring Integrity and Reliability / Availability to achieve targeted production.
  • Prepare MoC for obsolete equipment and other changes, follow through to completion.
  • Develop an Asset Reliability Strategy and Asset Improvement Plan
  • Establish and implement AMS-compliant, local management systems and processes for the AMS work processes mentioned above. This includes measuring and monitoring performance metrics, work process management and assurance, and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement and deliver business results.
  • Provides MTO coaching to the asset team
  • Review maintenance compliance deviations

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter with personal drive to meet targets.
  • At least 4 years prior experience as Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Team Lead
  • Well experienced in use and analysis of Reliability (RAM) Models
  • Can explain and coach the Shell maintenance work processes and executional practices in scope of this role.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and to handle multiple high priority activities simultaneously
  • Degree in maintenance engineering or discipline engineering
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis, understanding bad actors, maintenance, and repair, troubleshooting and analysis
  • Skilled in Process Safety, Supply chain Management, Asset Reliability, MTO, MEC and risk management
  • Trained / Certified in Causal Learning techniques
  • Miriam RAM Software experience is preferable.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in training and coaching of staff in Maintenance Work processes
  • Ability to work with virtual teams
  • Must have an overall experience of min 15 years in Maintenance and/or reliability engineering in Upstream gas production & maintenance operations
  • Must be certified and have experience as a Technical Authority for Maintenance
