Sappi Jobs – Planner

Job Description:

Sappi Ngodwana Mill requires 2 Planners to plan and schedule all maintenance tasks to ensure long-term plant availability and reliability, thereby contributing to the overall equipment effectiveness and objectives.

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager – Mechanical

Job Responsibilities:

• Review all notifications for the correctness and report weekly on the backlog, compliance and open works orders per discipline
• Responsible for and custodian of the weekly planning process and ensure compliance and effectiveness of all process
• Prepare and distribute the weekly capacity planning report per Foremen in the area of responsibility
• Perform over inspections on equipment in the plant to ensure data in SAP is correct
• Manage and review all shut related works orders for correctness
• Manage the late work procedure and review shut works orders daily to identify any additional work orders
• Ensure a standard rundown and start-up bar chart exists for each plant and is signed off by the relevant Production Manager
• Develop a bar chart for all shut works orders and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure correct scheduling of activities
• Attend shut meetings, take minutes and action items forthcoming from the meeting
• Run the weekly planning meetings
• Prepare weekly cost reports to assist Engineers with cost management
• Develop and update Master Data documents to support the maintenance strategy
• Perform regular audits covering your area of responsibility
• The custodian of Inspection One ito use, data intergrity, developement of routes/schedules, training, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Post Matric Certificate / Diploma / NQF Level 5 – 6
• Recognised Trade Certificate (Manpower/Seta accredited)
• 3 – 5 years’ plant operations experience
• Computer Literate (MS Office Package)
• Valid driving license
• Pulp and Paper Industry experience will be advantageous
• CMMS (SAP) experience will be advantageous
• Inspection One experience will be advantageous
