Sainsburys Jobs Near me – Investment Planning Manager

Website Sainsbury's

Job Description:

To be successful in this role you’ll be a commercial, strategic minded thought leader using a high level of engagement with stakeholders. Across the non-trading business category teams, you’ll continually review, appraise and present the evolving ideas pipeline. You’ll utilise appropriate working group and decision-making forums to manage the flow of ideas requiring capital investment; providing stakeholder feedback, in a programme focussed manner. You’ll ensure projects have customer, colleague, climate and commercial hypotheses to support in their prioritisation across different category plans, driving decisions on strategic trade-offs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire your direct report in preparing and maintaining relevant governance documentation and management reporting tools to help engagement and prioritisation
  • Challenge and create clear understanding of project benefits against Climate, Customer, Colleague and Commercial measures
  • Drive an integrated capital planning approach for current and future financial years with robust, consistent reporting
  • Proactively build strong working relationships with stakeholders to own and shape the ideas pipeline requiring capital investment across our non-commercial teams
  • Identify relevant Property team resource needs early to accelerate feasibility studies and inter-connected project delivery via the investment programme
  • Influence prioritisation at board level quarterly capital investment pipeline review and communicate the outputs back to stakeholders
  • Work cross functionally on the commercial growth activity pipeline, influencing the wider capital investment plan and Property investment programme

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a hybrid working environment, influencing others and role modelling leadership behaviours to create one aligned plan
  • Understanding of retail, commercial format models and how to identify and balance potential scope overlap between complex projects from different areas of a business
  • Broad experience of creating robust relationships with a diverse set of senior stakeholders, leading a change project agenda and facing into difficult trade-off conversations while inspiring the team around you
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with financial data and business cases; being able to explain the context of project benefits to non-finance colleagues
  • Credibility and confidence with senior stakeholders in preparing material and presenting at different levels of an organisation, ensuring that interests affecting the projects are considered, challenged and communicated
  • Confidence in making decisions and using intuition in the absence of robust data and analysis, using experience and judgement to help make decisions and an ability to break complex decisions down to create clarity for others
