Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a Medical Technician/Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the team in the Microbiology department at our St. Georges branch in Port Elizabeth. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of displaying Microbiology/Clinical competence and who has a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.

Job Requirements:

• Must have an acceptable track record/performance record with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
• Must be fluent in English with a good understanding of Afrikaans
• Display initiative
• Current registration with the HPCSA in Microbiology/Clinical Pathology
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends & public holidays
• National diploma/degree qualification or Medical Technician Certificate in Microbiology/Clinical Pathology
• Must have experience with basic trouble shooting on instruments
• Adaptability
• Client-focused with excellent attention to detail
• Problem-solving ability
• Computer literate with Meditech knowledge is advantageous
• Result-orientated
• Must have at least 1 year of Microbiology/Clinical experience post HPCSA registration
• Stress resistance and tenacity
