Job Description:

The Lead Cybersecurity Engineer serves as the primary interface for all cybersecurity matters across all Engineering programs. The LCE provides leadership to a cross-functional team of engineers to identify and implement cybersecurity solutions and promote compliance across all programs. Primary focus is to provide program managers support in their understanding and meeting DoD 8570 IA certification compliance, Cyber Security principles, Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), and DevSecOps. The LCE interfaces with program managers, clients, and enterprise IT to increase awareness of, and to promote EDI contract cybersecurity requirements. The LCE is a major contributor to solutions and proposal activities. Travel is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining a NIST 800-171 System Security Plan
  • Ensuring all controls required by NIST 800-171 are applied to the network
  • Participating in Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) audits
  • Scanning the network using available tools (OpenSCAP, ACAS/Nessus, etc…)
  • Providing a baseline buildout for workstations and servers that is hardened to DoD standards
  • Using DoD STIGs as a baseline for hardening the network defense
  • Lead threat analysis and risk assessment in collaboration with other functional engineers.
  • Lead cybersecurity requirement development, review, and work closely with functional engineers to ensure the execution of these requirements
  • Advise DevSecOps teams of vulnerabilities and support tracking cyber security implementation issues based on the vulnerability analysis
  • Keep close awareness of cyber security incidents in relative industries and report incidents when applicable through the incident response process.

Job Requirements:

  • Education / Certifications:
  • BS degree in Computer Science, or other 4-year Technical degree
  • IAT/IAM Level II (Level III preferred)
  • Top Secret Clearance required
  • Must have 5 or more years of DevSecOps experience
  • Must have experience with NIST 800-171 compliance audit process
  • Must have experience developing System Security Plans
  • Must have demonstrated direct client engagement
  • Strong leadership and ability to drive result
  • Strong technical understanding and knowledge of cybersecurity
  • Good understanding of program contract requirements
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
