The diverse nature of the work will see you delving into EBA negotiations, Fair Work matters, union discussions, change management and other aspects of ER and IR. Working in a broad team, with a wide skillset, who have the same goals that you do and are happy to share their knowledge and work through any issues with you in a cooperative way.

You will be able to see the fruits of your labour, see matters through to the end and identify business outcomes. You will be viewed as an integral part of our business and work with stakeholders throughout our Australia Post community on a long term basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing interpretation on how to apply relevant policies and instruments.
  • Assisting in workplace investigations.
  • Supporting and leading consultative forums and dispute resolution processes with unions.
  • Providing advice and advocacy on employee or union related proceedings in tribunals.
  • Representing the enterprise at conciliation sessions at the FWC.
  • Educating and developing staff on ER, IR and HR matters.
  • Implementing the IR and ER strategy of the group.
  • Providing strategic and operational advice to management and HR.
  • Acting as an escalation point for the HR team.
  • Coaching and supporting HR colleagues on ER matters.
  • Written advice, letters and correspondence to team members.
  • Supporting the business with compliance.
  • Developing and implementing an IR / ER framework.
  • Planning and implementing major workplace relations projects and change initiatives.
  • Supporting case management of complex people matters
  • Monitoring developments in ER and HR law and recommending changes where appropriate.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in law, with significant experience in employment and industrial law.
  • You will have an extensive technical and working knowledge of the Australian Industrial Relations system. Including relevant legislation and legal principles such as the Fair Work Act, EEO & discrimination legislation, and employment contracts.
  • You will have demonstrated analytical, research and problem solving abilities and have highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
